My upcoming Menzies Research Centre events:
American political analyst and author Henry Olsen visit to Australia: 17-25 August
With politics in a state of flux across the developed world, the MRC has invited one of the United States' most astute political observers to Australia to offer an international perspective on contemporary events.
Henry Olsen, who coauthored The Four Faces of the Republican Party and The Fight for the 2016 Presidential Nomination, will help us understand the forces that may yet install Donald Trump in the White House and provide a perspective on the anti-establishment sentiment that pushed Britain out of Europe and is re-writing the political rules in Australia.
Olsen brings some much-needed optimism to this often mis-framed discussion. He argues that centre-right parties have a golden opportunity to emerge as winners from this period of disruption by reconnecting with the constituency Robert Menzies called the Forgotten People.
